Rethinking the Holidays: December 4
[ December 4, 2007; ] We are once again partnering with Earth Matters, a student group at the University of Tulsa, for the second (hopefully annual) Rethinking the Holidays event at the University of Tulsa campus on December 4 from 7PM-9PM. Last year we covered the history of holiday celebrations and the movement toward wasteful spending and commercialization of the holidays. We had various displays and demonstrations at the event as well as socially conscious alternatives available. This year we will be focusing on how to eat locally and seasonally during the holidays as well as how to interact with family members who have a different vision of the annual celebration than we do. University of Tulsa campus – Business Administration Hall (BAH) 219. (Click on “More…” for a map and further directions.)
