Sustain:ABILITY Architecture Lecture, Architect Rick Cook – April 17
Price Tower Arts Center’s Architecture Study Center presents Sustain:ABILITY, a series of programs exploring and attempting to define “sustainability” by engaging some of the most progressive architects, designers, and manufacturers working in an environmentally conscious manner.
Rick Cook, an architect in the forefront of green design, will discuss what is perhaps the most ambitious green architectural project to date in the United States. When completed in 2008, the Bank of America Tower will be the most environmentally responsible high-rise office building in the US, and the first to achieve the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Platinum designation.
Cook will also discuss his firm’s offices in New York. Platinum LEED certified with a 3,600 square foot green roof, it has been called the “greenest” office in New York City. The environmental consciousness that permeates the Cook + Fox culture goes far beyond what they design; it literally permeates how they operate their business.
April 17, Union Depot, Tulsa, OK – 6:30 PM
Tickets are available online at http://www.pricetower.org, or by phone at 918-336-4949. Admission is $8.00 for museum members, $10 for non-members.
